Grant Funding and Scholarships
It is with regret that we share that the Mansfield Center will not be able to support the previously announced $120,000 in research and internship grant funding for 2025. This change is due to federal funding cuts as part of President Trump’s DOGE initiative.
This decision is deeply disappointing, as our 2024 grants, totaling $72,000, enabled four 老虎机攻略 professors to develop courses on elections, freedom, and citizenship; one to author a book on the Declaration of Independence; and four others to conduct vital research into democratic principles in practice. Additionally, four students received support for research projects related to democracy in photojournalism, land issues, indigenous communities, and farming. Another four students were supported in DC-based internships on Capitol Hill, the Department of Interior, and in a national security setting.
We recognize the critical importance of this research and experiential learning in supporting our national interests and ensuring the strength of our democratic institutions. These efforts are vital for fostering an informed citizenry and resilient governance. We are truly sorry that proposals will not be considered this year.
Thank you for your understanding.
